Annual Doors Open Richmond returns to celebrate diversity
May 19, 2023
For one weekend, the public will get to explore what happens behind-the-scenes of different organizations, places of worship, restaurants and more next month.
The Doors Open Richmond event, organized by the Richmond Museum Society, is taking place June 3 to 4 for people to explore cultural places, civic service facilities and restaurants and experience the diversity and heritage of the city.
“Doors Open Richmond is not just an event; it’s a distinctive occasion for individuals to explore the intriguing narratives and notable landmarks that define our city”, said Bilan Hassan, vice-chair of the Richmond Museum Society.
“This year, we are thrilled to be fully back in-person. We invite everyone to partake in the festivities that celebrate Richmond’s rich cultural diversity and important City services, whether it be experienced through world-class cuisine or via behind-the-scenes access to our civic landmarks and places of faith.”
New sites are joining Richmond’s annual event this year, including the Turkish Canadian Society and Lamajoun Armenian Restaurant.
