Taxes in Canada

Attention to all newcomers to Canada: Tax season (February to April) is coming up! Are you prepared? If you are finding it difficult to understand the tax system, we have a workshop for you. We will cover the basics of what you need to know to properly file your taxes in Canada for the first time.
In this workshop, a tax specialist from Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) will teach us about:
- Purpose of taxes and how they are used by Canadian government
- What taxes need to be paid, and how to pay them
- How to reduce taxes, and how to gain benefits today and in the future
- How to file a tax return and what happens once you have filed
