Innovative Employment Supports for Refugees and Refugee Claimants

This webinar, hosted by ISSofBC’s BC Refugee Hub, will focus on innovative employment programs for refugees and refugee claimants. We will share challenges, best practices and successes in supporting newcomer refugees and refugee claimants in connecting to meaningful employment in the Canadian labour market.

We will hear from YWCA’s Afghan Women’s Employment (AWE) program, an employment and training program that supports Afghan refugee women in exploring and securing careers or further education in Canada.

We will also hear from ISSofBC’s Gateway to Tourism & Hospitality Jobs for Newcomers program, a free program that helps immigrants, refugees and refugee claimants access free fully funded training opportunities to find tourism and hospitality jobs.
