SUMMARY:How to Talk to Your Kids about Race and Racism
DESCRIPTION:For many families\, talking to their kids about race and racism can be difficult. How do I start this conversation? Are they too young for this topic? Should I wait until they are older? What is appropriate for me to say? Will I scare them by talking about this? These are just some of the questions that might discourage families from bringing up this topic with their kids. \nStarting these important conversations are one of the first steps to raising anti-racist kids and it is never too early. \nJoin our webinars to better understand different forms of racism\, how kids learn about race and racism\, and how families can start talking to them about it in a safe\, inclusive\, and supportive way. \nThese sessions will be facilitated by Angela Ma Brown\, an anti-racist educator specializing in the areas of anti-racism\, anti-oppression\, social justice\, equity\, diversity\, and inclusion. \nAll webinars will be delivered in English using Zoom and interpretation will be offered in different languages.
